Soz for the quietness here in the recent month or 2, it was convention season again. I spent most of it either preparing for the convention, doing commissions after the convention or working on comics (i released a new comic for Q-Con!). All I've been doing outside that has been doodles (which appear on my FB and Tumblr accounts), but I'd rather put up more completed things here than photos of doodles i intend to finish :<

So, I should be back now updating stuff now since Q-Con commissions are done (i'm still open to some commissions though, got another on the horizon), so expect more pics to appear here XD I have quite a few to clean up and upload here!!

The past few weeks i've been preoccupied with finishing my commissions from Q-Con and before that commissions from MCM Belfast Expo, so i havent been posting up here in a long time. I will be making a collate of the commissions i did for these cons/expos. i drew people in 3 different styles: manga, cartooney or my-little-pony styles. Of the 3 cartooney was the most popular (pony not far behind) so this new style of mine has evolved quite a lot (described as similar to powerpuff girls mixed with my new coraline styles).
I did a total of ~90 commissions from Expo and Q-Con (28 expo, 58 q-con). a good dozen-2 of those were doubles (2 commissions on same page) so the number of people drawn was about 110-120. it has been a popular and busy month and a half for me haha. hopefully making a good name for myself and my SakuraYume comics/brand.

As such, i will be opening commissions on here soon for portraits in any of my offered styles (currently those 3 but i'm practicing new styles). watch this space for this

Decided this morning that i need to be more motivated for artwork as left alone i tend to spend days on games, 3d stuff, cosplay, etc and never getting back to sakurayume or the pics i've been planning. I literally spent the last few days doing some minor corrections to my taokaka image instead of other new stuff :S
So. This week's goals:
Main goals:
Make a s-yume pic for a marker bag, tone at least 1 sy page.
Sub goals: get more done of taokaka bust pic, do a friend chibi, continue with prop/cosplay 2012 plans

Sub goals i don't mind missing, main goals i aim to get done for definate! I'll see about updating how well i did come monday/sunday for next week's goals

(p.s. for those on here that aren't on my FB, i've got like 5-6 pages of SakuraYume issue 2 toned and almost ready to go. I aim to get issue 2 finished in coming months!)

to start this off i need to say: I FREAKIN' LOVE MY TABLET LAPTOP!! seriously! I have been flying through artwork and colouring on this thing since it makes it all so better. I've even started to finish off pics i started ages and ages ago!

One of which is the 4 page side comic to one of my main stories "Sakura Yume." My friend, and editor-in-chief (she may kill me for saying that but i adore her dearly XD ), has me thinking about all the different things i need to clean up and finish before I can truly continue the comic and surnames was one of the things brought up. So, I thought i'd open this up to my friends and community (see the 4page comic just uploaded fav.me/d3981wo ). I will pick one from the list of ones suggested and I will use it in the comic ( and maybe even make a pic for the person sometime!). Suggestions can be made on the comic pages or on this journal entry.

Some progress on the other images i'm working on
Blade bio image - complete
Pearl bio image - colouring started.
Cloud-chan 3 - colouring started.
Cloud-chan 4 - inked and scanned and retouched.
Sakura Yume - Issue2 scanned. Retouching started. Toning not started. Issue 3 started.

3d animations on hold until i finish my thesis (march/april).

Also, i'm thinking once i complete my thesis i may start opening up artswaps with people or some commissions depending ^.^

More 3d editing done in the past while, i've finished yuki mostly and i started exporting the new standardised rig i built and putting it in len and my aikolen. its proving to be more difficult to do this to my Tsukiko and robyn models. Ah well.

Question to all: Anyone have any advice on inking with artwork? My current method of inking is too time consuming and too much retouching is needed, need to see what other artists use for inking a penciled picture? I just ink straight over the pic on the same page. Thicker paper so erasing doesn't fade the ink? Using a light box and 2 sheets of paper? Tracing paper? Transparent paper stuff? I would appreciate any thought on this.

on an unrelated note, heavy rain is awesome XD it took the best parts of fahrenheit and made it better! i absolutely loved playing the game!
